Although there are numerous settings and options, the interface of the software is easy to navigate and understand. Most of the functions are controlled with the large buttons, switches or checkmark, which is good from an ergonomics perspective. The program is free and available for both Windows and Mac.
The antivirus does a decent job of keeping your computer safe from malware. Its real-time security detects more than 99percent of threats, and it didn’t cause any false positives in my tests. It doesn’t provide the same level detection as other leading products when it comes to scans and heuristics.
360 Total Security comes with several security and maintenance options. A VPN is included in the premium version. Its heuristic engine detects malware by examining a program’s behavior, which is quite helpful in cases where the threat isn’t well-known and doesn’t have a signature.
